The negative ramifications of foreclosure are very serious. If you are looking to avoid a foreclosure, we can help you evaluate your loan documents, your financial circumstances and the value of your property to help you determine what your foreclosure defense options are. If we find that errors were made by the mortgage lender in your loan documents or in the foreclosure process, we can help you take action to protect your rights. Some clients are able to undergo alternatives to foreclosure, such as through the short sale or deed in lieu process. Another way for individuals to get rid of their homes when it does not make financial sense to keep them is to carry out a strategic default. When homeowners strategically default on their mortgage loans, they stop paying them intentionally in order to start the foreclosure process. The Edwards Law Firm, PL helps clients implement these strategies, among many others.
